The Sweden archeologist O.Janse is a familiar name with the Vietnamese archaeology. He went to Vietnam in the 30s of the last century as a partner of the Ecole Française d’Extreme-Orient (EFEO). As a scientist, he noticed many issue, from the protohistory period to history of the Far East, but his biggest concern is the Dong Son culture and initial contact between Indo-China indigenous culture and Chinese culture. He traveled much, hosted many important excavation and brought Louis Finot Museum (now Vietnam National Museum of History) the collection of valuable artifact, including man-shaped lamp which the name of book.
The book "The Secret of man-shaped lamp " is written as note. Author show the reader exciting discovery but also much difficulties on the way of research. The story is built on the recorded material, the author has shortened and adjust aims to introduce the majority of those interested in archaeological journey in his Southeast Asia. Publication really a great value for those who are interested in ancient cultures and modern in the colorful world around us.
