To France, Dien Bien Phu is a black spot in the history, the beginning of the disintegration of the colonial empire. May 7, 1954, France shocked "Dien Bien Phu Victory ended  invincible legend of the West ..." (In the words of General Vo Nguyen Giap).

To French soldiers fought at Dien Bien Phu, from generals to the ordinary soldier also  admired the will of Vietnam. They had to admit defeat of France as an indispensable history because of Vietnam heroic people. After failing to return France, General De Castries answered to  the board of inquiry of  French Ministry of Defense that "One can defeat an army but can not defeat a people". Dien Bien Phu victory was resoundingly not only for France but for the world.
"Victory of Dien Bien Phu in 1954 under the view of foreigners" collected of ideas, evaluation of France soldier who took part in  Dien Bien Phu campaign.

The book consists of three main content:

Part I. Prediction for the failure of French  at Dien Bien Phu.

Part II. Dien Bien Phu in memory of Frence soldier who took part in the war.

Part III. Dien Bien Phu and the Indochina War from the view of the French people and the world.
