Comrade Nguyen Van Linh was a consistent and prestigious leader of our Party, people and army, an outstanding disciple of President Ho Chi Minh. Being an exemplary Communist Party member, he was very steadfast, loyal, and he devoted his whole life to the struggle to liberate the nation and unify the country, for socialism and people’s happiness.

Comrade Nguyen Van Linh had gone through nearly 70 years of revolutionary activities in three parts of the country since the early 1930s, in extremely arduous conditions and through two periods of imprisonment. He was trusted by Party and State to shouder many important responsibilities. Particularly in 1986, at a turning point of the country, while being General Secretary, he actively and creatively steered the revolution- ary boat through dangerous situations – to deploy the renewal policy.

“Nguyen Van Linh – Party General secretary of early Renewal Period” collected highlight the truthful and lively images of comrade Nguyen Van Linh’ life and career with his great merits and contributions in many fields in the national revolutionary cause, especially his important contributions in national renewal when he was the General Secretary.

The book consists of three main contents:
