The 4th conference of Asian National Museum Association (ANMA) was held on October 8th 2013 at The Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH), Vietnam. The conference is held every two years and in 2013, Vietnam was very honored to host the 4th conference of ANMA.
Becoming a chairman of the 4th ANMA conference 2013, VNMH set the topic of the coference as “Museums contributing to social changes” which presentations of Asian museums were focused on.
Based on summarizing the presentations of the conference, the publication “ANMA - Proceedings of the 4th conference of Asian National Museum Association” has been published in English version along with the Vietnamese version. The book includes presentations of 14 countries that participated in the conference, such as: Vietnam, China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Srilanka, Nepal, India, Philippines and Laos. All the presentations focused on three following contents: Museums contribute to change perception of conserving and developing heritages; Museums with heritage tourism and The educational role of museums. The book is a valuable document that brings a general view of museum works in Asian national museums and Vietnam to readers. Therefore, cultures of Asian countries and Vietnam are spread.
