It can be said that the book is the first monograph on boat burial in the spatial and temporal context of depressed region of the Northern delta (including the Red river and Thai Binh river) and the periods of Dong Son culture (from some centuries BC to AD), post-Dong Son, Chinese domination, dynasties of Ly, Tran and Le until recently.
