Ba Ria-Vung Tau province is a province in the southeastern region including mainland and islands (Con Dao). The north is next to Dong Nai province, the northeast next to Binh Thuan province, the south west is next to Can Gio district (Ho Chi Minh City), the west is next to Ho Chi Minh City. Administrative units of Ba Ria - Vung Tau including Vung Tau city, Ba Ria town and six districts: Long Dien, Dat Do, Tan Thanh, Chau Duc, Xuyen Moc and Con Dao island district.

Archaeology with over thirty years of research has shown that this land had a long process of development for thousands of years, this region had not only established a peak in the development of metal age around land the but also established an stable economic - social structure. In particular, the sea plays an important role creating basic difference in the last bronze age, the soon iron era and specially, it created huge momentum in the process of cultural exchange and intra-regional trade with beyond region.

"Ba Ria - Vung Tau archaeology from prehistoric to protohistory" introduces the discovery of land which was sorted in time and classified due to material, type,, useful function of collection which was stored at the museum as well as scientific problems in this area.

The book consists of five main contents:

Part II. Annals of Ba Ria - Vung Tau archeology from prehistory to protohistory.

Part III. Vestige archaeology.

Part IV. Relic archaeology.

Part V. Social-economic structure of people from prehistory and protohistory of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province
