Vietnamese people has experienced more than four thousand years of building and defending country with achievements and glorious victory. From Hung Kings constructed nation, established Van Lang state with bronze drum culture and Red River civilization to Thuc Phan - An Duong Vuong with Au Lac state, built Co Loa citadel-a great creative work, and to Hai Ba Trung of Me Linh land ... our nation has stood up against aggression of North feudal enemy.

To 544, after expelling Luong domination, Ly Bi became king, called Nam Viet emperor (Ly Nam De), set official name of a country Van Xuan, set date Thien Duc, established reign, on a par with big countries of the North, claimed national independence, forever unshakeability of Southern land. From Ly Nam De reign (544-548) to the reign of Bao Dai King (1926-1945) - the last emperor of Vietnam feudal history, our country has experienced over 1400 years with the up and down of many reigns, nearly one hundred emperors.

In history, king had an important part in developing process of country. General policy and specific action of each emperor had an influence on Vietnamese society at the time. Thus the life of each Vietnam emperor related the period of their domination.

"54 emperors of Vietnam" introduced portraits of 54 emperors representing nearly one hundred emperors from Ly dynasty (Ly Nam De) to Nguyen dynasty with the last emperor Bao Dai. The book provides readers with concise information, valuable refining from many different documents on the last Vietnam king through dynasty.
