Prime minister Vo Van Kiet was an outstanding leader of the Vietnamese Communist Party, Government and people. He was a loyal fighter who devoted his whole life to national independence and socialism and for the happiness of people. Throughout his nearly seven years of life which were tempered in the fierce patriotic war, in the harsh time of peace, in the search of renewal, he remained the man of the people and the nation.

Being tempered in the two wars of national resistance, adopting a pro-active spirit in the fight against th enemy and considering his bond with the people as “ fish and water”, together with the entire party and people, prime minister Vo Van Kiet rendered great contribution to the fight to expel the French colonialists and the US imperialists from Vietnam. Following total liberation of the country, in different position, yet with his strategic thinking and resolve to carry out the renewal process, ha made valuable contribuition to the planing and implementation of this renewal which was initiated and led by the Party. His name is closely associated with many major infrastructure schemes in the country, such as: thu Dung Quat Oil Refinery, the irrigation project to bring fresh water to the Mekon delta, among others.

Prime minister Vo Van Kiet” with 340 photos and paintings carefully selected and compiled with short and precise descriptions, the book invidly describes Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet’s years of revolution activities, which were full of difficulties and challenges in his native home of Vinh Long province, in South-west land, SaiGon-Gia Dinh, then Ho Chi Minh City. And finally he became the Prime Minister of government.

The book consists of three main contents:
