According to Decision nr. 3536 – BVHTT of the Ministry of Culture and Information, the Museum of History of Vietnam in coordination with the Service of Culture and Information of Thua Thien – Hue, has undertaken the archaeological excavation of the site Con Dai, commune of Huong Chu, district of Huong Tra, province of Thua Thien – Hue.
According to Decision nr. 3536 – BVHTT of the Ministry of Culture and Information, the Museum of History of Vietnam in coordination with the Service of Culture and Information of Thua Thien – Hue, has undertaken the archaeological excavation of the site Con Dai, commune of Huong Chu, district of Huong Tra, province of Thua Thien – Hue.
This is a site belonging to Sa Huynh culture, having many relations with the site Con Rang excavated before, with an age of from 2000 – 2500 years.
The excavated area is: 150m2.
Time of excavation: from December to the end of October 2006.
Responsible of the excavation: Dr Vũ Quốc Hiền, vice-director of the Museum of History of Vietnam. Members of the excavation: Chu Văn Vệ, Nguyễn Tuấn Lâm, Đỗ Trần Cư…
According to the news from the excavation, on the last September 5th has been opened the first pit of area 50m2. After tha arable earth layer has been removed, in the first layer have been discovered 6 jar-tumbs of Sa Huynh type. Many interesting things are expected to be discovered in the site Con Dai in this excavation. The details will be communicated further.
