Based on the resolution number 392 of The Cultural Information Department on 20
th Feb, 2006, which approved The Cultural Information Department of Ha Tay province cooperates with National Museum of Vietnamese History to excavate Tam Bao archaeological site that belonged to Dau Pagoda in Nguyen Trai Commune, Thuong Tin district, Ha Tay province. This excavation focused on serving a project which will rebuild Dau pagoda - a national historical monument and famous with 2 original statues which wase embalmed from 2 monk bodies: Vu Khac Minh and Vu Khac Truong.
This excavation was carried out in 386,5 square meters area at the end of Feb, 2006.The results are quiet good. Tam Bao was built in Mac dynasty, the water escape systems in Tran dynasty and some other objects were appeared at the excavated area. It is said that this excavation is very interesting, and the results from this will be the worthful documents for rebuilding this famous pagoda. The excavation is schedule to finish at the end of May, 2006
