On the 19/7/2007, the Department of Cultural Patrimonies of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Service of Culture and Information of Hanoi, has organized a meeting with the collectors of Hanoi to deliberate on the two main problems stated in the article of Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoa, Vice-Director of the Service of Culture and Information of Hanoi, that are: - The conveniences and inconveniences, the difficulties in collecting antiquities and in the construction of private museums.
- Propositions on the mechanism and the policy relative to the registering of antiquities, the formalities of creation of a museum and the exhibiyion of collections of antiquities.
Under the presidwnce of Dr. Dang Van Bai, Director of the Department of Cultural Patrimonies and of Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoa, Vice-Directeur of the Service of Culture and Information of Hanoi, the meeting has suceeded beyond hope, with many advices on the two sus-mentioned problems, and a great interest for the cultural cause of the Capital, when Hanoi is preparing to feast the millenarian of Thang Long.
- Deliberating on the two above problems, the collectors of Hanoi are still anxious on the policy relative to the registering of antiquities, as well as on the difficulties of creation of private museums at Hanoi. After the explanations of the researchers, of the two state organizations and above all the experiences of other provinces which have succeeded in this matter, the collectors of Hanoi have been persuaded to realize the registering of antiquities by steps, and hope to obtain a more special form, that the museum of Hanoi reserves a place for the exhibition of private collections, instead of creating their own museums, the space in Hanoi being very limited for such purposes. This demand also meets the wishes of the state organizations, according to the Vice-Director of the Service of Culture and Information.
However, in order to accelerate the registering of antiquities and the delivering of certificates to the collectors, one needs a close cooperation, investments and helps from the Service of Culture and Information on the basis of the Law on the Cultural Patrimonies.
