The Decision on establishment of The Vietnam National Museum of History, which was approved by the Prime Minister, in the base of merging two museums: The National Museum of Vietnamese History and The Museum of Vietnamese Revolution was announced to all officers and labours.
On October 25th 2011, an announcement ceremony of the Decision on establishment of The Vietnam National Museum of History was taken place officially with the participation of Mr. Le Khanh Hai, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Duong Van Tien, the representative of the Office of the Government and the Deputy Director General, officials from the Department of Personnel and Organisation, Department of Cultural Heritage and officials and all officers from the 2 museums.

Along with the announcement, Mr. Le Khanh Hai also announced the Decision on appointment of leaders of the new museum, they are: Director Nguyen Van Cuong and three Deputy Directors: Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chien, Mr. Vu Quoc Hien and Mr. Vu Manh Ha.
In the ceremony, Mr. Le Khanh Hai showed his joy when the project of building the Vietnam National Museum of History has been developed. This is our chance to gather all individuals to build a complete museum, he said.
Mr. Duong Van Tien also shared his trust in the future of the Vietnam National Museum of History. He emphasised to the solidarity and mutual assistance in building the new museum so we can show the power of the 2 museums when they are merged.

After the announcement ceremony, all the officers and staves of the Vietnam National Museum of History had a chance to discuss and exchange experiences to provide a good work-condition after merging the 2 museums.
