Through the time to attend the Cultural Lecture Meeting in Kyushu National Museum, and, science visit and experience study in some historical, cultural relics in Fukuoka, the task force received the follow results:

1. At the Vietnamese cultural lecture meeting in Kyushu National Museum

With the idea spreading deeply and widely Vietnamese Culture to Japan, and promote the consolidated relation between Vietnam and Japan, Kyushu National Museum invited 4 experts of Vietnamsese culture and history to present some matters about Vietnamsese culture and history to reseachers and audiences. This lecture meeting contains 4 special subjects:

1.1. Vietnamese Ceramics with the international marine trade, written by Doctor Nguyen Dinh Chien, Vice Director of National Museum of Vietnamese History. This special subject focus on presenting the types of Vietnam export glaze ceramics, which found in Vietnam and being displayed in many museums in the world. And it also focus on presenting Vietnamese ceramics in Cu Lao Cham shipwreck (Quang Nam province). According to it, we realize the strong development of Vietnamese ceramics industry, and the international marine trade activity of Vietnam from early 14th to late 15th century.

1.2. Dong Son culture and the metallurgy, bronze-casting in Dong Son period, written by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Chat, an archaeologist, Research and Collect Division, National Museum of Vietnamese History. This special subject focus on presenting the bronze artifact collection of Dong Son culture and the metallurgy, bronze-casting in Dong Son period. Once again to confirm surely the native origin of Dong Son culture and its brilliant development in the metallurgy, bronze-casting of that time.

1.3. The attractiveness of Hội An world heritage site in Vietnam, written by Ms. Yuriko Abe, a researcher of the Institute of International Culture, Showa Women’s University. This special subject focus on presenting the relation history between Vietnam – Japan from early 16th to late 18th century, especially it develop strongly in 17th century. That relation showed on the historical documents and science evidences that collected by archaeological investigations, surveys and excavations. Through these, emphasizing the historical relation, cooperation of Vietnam – Japan.

1.4. Vietnamese history based on document from the Kyushu National Museum, written by Mr. Takashi Hasuda, researcher at the Center for Southeast Asia study, Kyoto University. This special subject focus on presenting various documentation relate to villages in Vietnam, from decree, stele, family annals…etc, dated from late Lê to Nguyễn dynasty (17th – 20th century). These documents play an important part to collect, display the highly cultural values with the idea: “View the foundation of Japanese culture from Asia history”, Vietnam is in there.

2. Science visit and the experienced at Kyushu National Museum and some other historical, cultural relics in Fukuoka

In this business trip, National Museum of Vietnamese History task force visited the main display system of Kyushu National Museum and some historical, cultural relics, through that, we received some awarenesses and value experiences for display, preservation and embellishment task and bring into play the relic’s value.

2.1. At Kyushu National Museum, this is a large-scale museum and one of the most modern museums nowaday, the main area display is 3.900 sq metre. Beside, available room for temporary exhibition, the discovery room for children, the space for exhibition, fair, storage, hall and office. Large and fully equiped. Especially the display zone, with 5 main display rooms, Museum took the audiences to deep understand about Japaese history in general, Kyushu in particular by many typical objects. Beside, Museum there are also the display rooms showing the cultures of the Orient coutries. The wall background and floor’s color are black brown, made the space is quiet, impressive, The objects are attracted by pointed light and faradaic lamp. The objects are seldom, the space are large but always make them impressivce…etc.

2.2. At the ouside of historical, cultural relics, contain the location discovers 2 bronze seals of Han dynasty, Thuy Thanh (the resistance defence line against Mongolian from North Korean, late 13th century, the Shogun palace, Fukuoka stone wall, “Hồng Lư house” (the pleasure-house of ambassadors) and some temple relics…etc. In these relics, we realized that this country knows how to exploit, bring into play skifully the sites’ values. Typically is the discovery of a gilded bronze seal of Han dynasty (57 A.D), although the size is small (2 x 2 centimetre), but it reflect the long-time history of Kyushu, Japan built a relic in the small island, with only has stone mountain and tree around, but created a way surrounded the island, it is convenient for visitors. Or in the Shogun palace, although the exavation survey result made the relic open-cast all of architecture foundation, city wall, corridor…etc, but they don’t restore costly, only re-build the architecture foundation’s binding part, lay the small stone on the heart-floor to preserve the sign, against the plants erode, when the visitors go sightseeing, the architecture space with the white stone was remarkabled on the green grass, create a strong impression to visitors.

A different symbol about the preservation, ambellishment and bring into play the relic’s value in Fukuoka is “Hồng Lư house” area, lie next to the stone wall building. In there, when they carried out to clear the ground to build baseball stadium, they discoveried Hong Lu house’s foundation at 9th century. This country chose the solution to preserve whole foundation by building the hole edge, the tin-roofed with the steel frame to preserve, surrounding created the visiting way and display the relic’s objects, images. Beside, they build a part (about 1/3) of architecture by new material, but show the full structure of architecture, help the visitors feel Hong Lu house’s appearance in the past.

3. Although we had a short time to stay in Fukuoka, but by passing this lecture meeting and a science visit that help us to receive many useful things to our speciality task and museum activities. The experiences from Kyushu National Musem or the historical, cultural relics in Fukuoka will be necessary to Vietnam in museum task, preserve, embellish and bring into play the relic’s value, especially, it’s suitable to Orient to build the new National Museum of Vietnamese History; in the preservation, embellishment and bringing into play Lam Kinh relic – Thanh Hóa province, or preserve the architecture foundation’s signs in Thăng Long Royal Citadel – Hà Nội…etc.
