Accomplishing the Decision no 5085/QD-BVHT of the 04 - 12 - 2008 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the delegation of the National Museum of Vietnamese History, conprising 9 members, headed by Dr Pham Quoc Quan, Director of the Museum, is arrived at Nanning - China to assist to the inauguration of the exhibition under the theme The silk road on sea - Ceramics taken from wrecked ships in the Vietnam sea from 14/12/2008 to 21/12/2008.

It is the result of the cooperation between the National Museum of Vietnamese History and the Museum of the autonomous region of the Choang people of Kuangsi - China. The exhibition lasts three months (from December 2008 to the end of February 2009), but the fisrt week has reseived more than 70 thousands of visitors. On this occasion, the two museums, in concert with the Archaeological Institute of Kuangsi, have published a book with the same title as the theme of the exhibition, in three languages: vietnames, chinese and english. The book is highly appreciated by its attraction, its rich contents and its beautiful presentation. These are two works to greet the quinquagenary of the foundation of the Autonomous Region of the Choang people (Kuangsi - China).

After the inauguration, the delegation visits certain museums and vestiges of the two provinces Kuangsi and Jiangsi - China.

- Visit of two museums (Ethnographical Museum and Museum of Sciences and Technics) newly built and inaugurated with a total expenses of 300 - 500 millions USD. The delegation has learned numerous lessons on the management of projects, the style of exhibition, the contents and the form of manifestation, the architecture of the museum.

- Working visit of the shop of cultural objects of Kuangsi where they learn about the market of ancient objects and the mechanism of functioning of this sort of state shops, draw from there experiences to apply to Vietnam.

- Working with the Ministry of Culture, the Museum of the autonomous region of the Choang people, the Ethnographical Museum, the Archaeological Institute of Kuangsi, deliberation on the contents of short and long time cooperation, experiences on the transfer of objects from locality museums to national museums.
- Study visit of the quarter of ceramics ovens of Canh Duc Tran at Jiangsi, learn the experience of museification of professional handicraft villages, safeguard the traditional fabrication of ceramics without running after the output by industrializing these handicraft villages.
- Visit and study of three ancient villages: Giang Loan, Thon Ly, Hieu Khoi in huyen of Vu Nguyen, in Jiangsi, learn the experience of preserving the environment, of global planifying (with a quarter of population deconcentration to avoid the pressure of population increasing), on the concept of repairing, on the community becoming the manager of the vestige, on the equalization of avantages (the streetface houses become shops, those living in lanes can receive visitors, give them to eat and to sleep for 30 chinese dollars a day, the company of tourism of the village distributing the revenues to families of the village, etc. etc.)
- Visit of Dang Vuong Cac, a ruin of a storeyed house of the time of Duong, famous by the poems of Vuong Bot and To Dong Pha, repaired according to the model and the style of Duong, a manner criticized but with high social effect. The visitors are very numerous and many jobs have been created to this quarter of vestiges.

- Visit and study of Tam Thanh Son, a center of taoism, a mundial cultural patrimony, a geological and natural patrimony. We can learn the manner of planifying the harmonious relations between modern means (hung up cable, restaurant, hotel, car parking) and the vestige. Tam Thanh Son has the same character as Yen Tu and the Perfume Pagoda, though its extent is much larger, but this site can be a lesson for the branch of vietnamese patrimonies.

During the working visit in China, the delegation of the National Museum of Vietnamese History has been warmly received by the Party Committee of the province, the People’s Committee of Kuangsi and the Museum of the autonomous region of the Choang people of Kuangsi. We hope that the two museums will have complete and long time programme of cooperation for the years to come, bringing the cultural history of the two peoples to the public through exchanges of exhibition and publication of printed matters.
