On the morning of February 23, 2026 (the 7th day of the first lunar month), the first working day of the new year, the Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH) held a meeting to celebrate the Year of the Horse 2026. This event gathered the entire staff and employees of the Museum.
The meeting took place in a warm and joyful atmosphere, marking an enthusiastic start to the new working year, filled with high expectations and determination.
Over the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday, while Facility 1 (No. 1 Trang Tien Street) was temporarily closed for renovation, VNMH proactively organized visitor services at Facility 2 (No. 216 Tran Quang Khai Street) starting from the 2nd day of the first lunar month.
During the first days of the Lunar New Year, the Museum welcomed over 1,000 visitors who came to explore its exhibitions and participate in various cultural activities. Duty shifts were strictly maintained to ensure the security and safety of all documents and artifacts, in full compliance with regulations.

In his remarks, Mr. Nguyen Van Doan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Museum, extended his best wishes for a happy, healthy, and successful New Year to all staff and employees. He praised the commitment and initiative shown by all departments in maintaining smooth operations during the Tet holiday, ensuring excellent visitor services and absolute security for all artifacts.

Mr. Nguyen Van Doan also emphasized that the renovation of Facility No. 1 is the Museum’s top priority for 2026. This project represents a significant milestone as it will be the first comprehensive upgrade in over twenty years.
He therefore requested all departments to closely coordinate with the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as well as with contractors, to ensure the project is completed on schedule and adheres to quality and safety standards.
At the same time, the Museum will continue to carefully prepare exhibition content at Facility 2 (No. 216 Tran Quang Khai Street), and maintain effective professional activities. Efforts will also focus on improving service quality for visitors and enhancing proactiveness and flexibility in meeting new requirements and tasks in the next stage of development.
