On the morning of September 23, 2025, the Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH) had the pleasure of welcoming and working with the delegation from the National Museum of Prehistory, Taiwan. The Taiwanese delegation included Mr. Wang Chung-chun and Ms. Yao Shu-yuh, both experts in anthropology and archaeology from the National Museum of Prehistory. The meeting was also attended by senior staff from the Archaeology Department and the Exhibition and International Relations Department of VNMH.

At the meeting, representatives from the National Museum of Prehistory (Taiwan) expressed their interest in developing cooperation with the Vietnam National Museum of History in the fields of scientific research and exhibition. The focus of interest in glass and jade artifact collections associated with the Dong Son, Sa Huynh, and Dong Nai cultures, especially items that show cultural similarities, such as double-animal-headed earrings and triple-knobbed earrings. Based on research results, both sides expect to collaborate in organizing academic conferences and scientific seminars, and to move forward with joint exhibitions in both countries.

During the meeting, representatives of the Vietnam National Museum of History presented an overview of the glass and jade artifacts from the Metal Ages currently preserved at VNMH and expressed their willingness to consider the collaboration proposals from Taiwan’s National Museum of Prehistory, which will be submitted to the museum’s leadership for further consideration.

This meeting represents an important initial engagement, reflecting goodwill and a common direction for research collaboration, while opening up promising prospects for cooperation in the museum sector between Vietnam and Taiwan in the near future.
