On the morning of July 14, 2025, the VNMH held a meeting to review its activities from the first half of the year and to set tasks for the remainder of the year.

The meetingwas chaired by Dr. Nguyen Van Doan, the Party Committee Secretary and Director of VNMH. Other attendees included Mr. Nguyen Van Ha, the Deputy Party Committee Secretary and Deputy Director, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hoan, a Member of Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Party Committee’s Inspection Commission and Deputy Director. The event also gathered managers from professional and administrative departments, as well as all museum staffs and employees.

During the meeting, a decision was announced regarding staff appointments and the reorganization of departments to create  a more streamlined and effective structure. Following this announcement, Mr. Nguyen Van Ha presented a report  summarizing the museum’s achievements in the first half of 2025 and outlined key tasks for the second half of the year. The meeting also included discussions from the museum’s staffs and employees.

In the first half of the year, under the guidance of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors, the VNMH carried out its task effectively. The museum actively engaged activities of research, collection, archaeology excavation and scientific studies.  Special attention was given to the inventory, management and preservation of artifacts. Efforts were also focused on enhancing the exhibition, education, communication and external relations, while ensuring  the safe management of documents and artifacts.  
During the first half of the year, the museum welcomed a total of 111,504 visitors, including 74, 318 onsite visitors; 36, 507 online visitors, and 679 through collaborative programs with other museums and historical sites. The museum’s website published 429 articles, attracting more than 19 million visits. .
In the second half of 2025, VNMH will focus on key tasks, including preparing a special exhibition for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, to be held at the Museum and the National Exhibition Center. The museum will ensure the security of documents and artifacts while continuing to carry out other activities  in a coordinated manner to successfully complete its assigned political and professional tasks.

At the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Van Doan highly appreciated the spirit of solidarity and effective collaboration among departments in the first half of the year. He encouraged all staffs to maintain their unity and commitment following the museum’s internal restructuring and to fully utilize their skills in their new roles.

He emphasized the future direction of the Museum as a specialized organization, urging each staff member to continually improve their skills and leverage their expertise to tackle upcoming challenges.
Dr. Nguyen Van Doan also called for AI training for staffs to improve their ability to apply technology in their professional work, thereby  supporting the Party and State’s goal. Additionally,  he   stressed the importance of maintaining strict work discipline, ensuring good welfare, and providing full benefits for all staffs and employees.

From 18 May 2019, the exhibition “Treasures of the Red River. Archaeological Collections from the Museums of Vietnam” will be running in the Winter Palace’s Halls of the History of Ancient Writings. It is being timed to mark Ho Chi Minh’s birthday and the days of the city named in his honour.

On the afternoon of July 7, 2025, the Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH) hosted a meeting with researchers from the National Research Institute of Maritime Cultural Heritage of Korea. The visit was part of an annual survey activity conducted under the Memorandum of Understanding between the two organizations, which has been approved by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam.
