The permanent exhibition of Museum is open normally for visitors. The schedule is as follows:

- Morning: from 8am to 12pm

- Afternoon: from 1.30pm to 5pm

From 18 May 2019, the exhibition “Treasures of the Red River. Archaeological Collections from the Museums of Vietnam” will be running in the Winter Palace’s Halls of the History of Ancient Writings. It is being timed to mark Ho Chi Minh’s birthday and the days of the city named in his honour.

During the visit to Vietnam, on the afternoon of March 13, 2025, Mr. Kléber Arhoul - Director of the Caen Memorial (France), along with his delegation, visited the Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH). The delegation was welcomed by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hoan - Deputy Director of VNMH, Ms. Pham Thi Mai Thuy - Head of the Education and Public Affairs Department and staff from the Communications and International Relations Department.
