On the morning of October 23, 2024, the Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH) had a meeting with the delegation of the Palace Museum (China), headed by Mr. Dou Haijiang - Deputy Director. The meeting was attended by Dr. Nguyen Van Doan - Director of the VNMH and managers of specialized departments.
Based on the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and China, especially in the field of cultural heritage, Mr. Dou Haijiang hopes that in the future, the two museums can promote cooperation in areas such as professional training, digitization and so on. On this occasion, the delegation members also expressed their interest and desire to admire the Chinese painting collections kept at the VNMH for research purposes.

Mr. Nguyen Van Doan expressed his agreement with the proposal of Chinese side. At the same time, he said that the VNMH has also established cooperation with Chinese partners such as the Yunnan Provincial Museum; the Sichuan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology and the Museum of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in professional activities. He expected that the VNMH and the Palace Museum would also have effective cooperation activities in the conservation of cultural heritage.
