Within the framework of the cultural cooperation program between the VNMH and the Kyushu National Museum of Japan, the Sumitomo Foundation has sponsored projects to preserve valuable artifacts of the VNMH, especially wood and paper artifacts including the door of Pho Minh Pagoda and collection of royal decrees (17th-20th centuries). The projects not only achieved good results in promoting and preserving cultural heritage but also provided a good opportunity for museum staff to exchange experiences and improve their professional qualifications from Japanese experts, thereby spreading to local museums.
