On the morning of May 20, 2024, the Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH) had a meeting with the delegation of the Museum of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, headed by Ms. Tang Jiangling - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Nguyen Van Doan - Director of the VNMH and managers of specialized departments

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the achievements of the cooperation program in recent years in the fields of exhibition, scientific research, publication, education, etc. These are significant activities to promote exchanges and cooperation between the two museums. However, the cooperation program was interrupted due to renovation of the Museum of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region as well as the Covid-19 epidemic.

At the meeting, representatives of the Museum of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region proposed continuing to sign agreement of cooperation in the period 2024 - 2029
Mr. Nguyen Van Doan highly appreciated the cooperation between the two museums and said that the cultural similarity of the two countries is an important factor promoting successful cooperation. He also agreed to further promote cooperative activities through signing an agreement in the next phase.

The meeting took place in an open atmosphere. The two sides will continue to discuss and complete the contents of the cooperation agreement before signing.

From 18 May 2019, the exhibition “Treasures of the Red River. Archaeological Collections from the Museums of Vietnam” will be running in the Winter Palace’s Halls of the History of Ancient Writings. It is being timed to mark Ho Chi Minh’s birthday and the days of the city named in his honour.
