On the afternoon of February 14, 2023, the Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH) had a meeting with Dr. Ayu Cornellia - the Digital Marketing Consultant of Sonobudoyo Museum, Indonesia. The meeting was attended by Dr. Nguyen Van Doan - Director of the VNMH and senior staffs from relevant departments of the Museum.
As a representative of Sonobudoyo Museum, Dr. Ayu Cornellia expressed her desire to visit the VNMH as well as discussed the posibility of establishing a cooperative relationship between the two museums.
Besides the specialized fields of museum such as exhibition, preservation, archaeology, education, Dr. Ayu Cornellia emphasized the significance of broadening cooperation in digital media. She shared some experience in promoting museum activities through media and global application platforms, typically hosting online talkshow and applying virtual reality to introduce cultural heritages.

At the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Van Doan expressed his gratitude and appreciated the goodwill of Dr. Ayu Cornellia. He said that Vietnam and Indonesia are two countries in Southeast Asia with many cultural similarities. Moreover, with the valuable source of documents and artifacts of the VNMH, he believes that there will be many opportunities for effective cooperation between the two museums. Some collections of artifacts closely related to Indonesian history and culture were introduced, such as the collection of Dong Son culture, the collection of ceramics from shipwrecks of the Vietnamese sea, the collection of Champa culture and so on..
At the same time, being aware of the importance of applying digital technology in museum activities for the purpose of attracting visitors, Dr. Nguyen Van Doan shared the positive results in the communication and digital technology application of the VNMH. On the other hand, he also mentioned the challenges and difficulties that the Museum is facing.

The two sides agreed to maintain close communication and exchanges at high levels, further expand practical cooperation at bilateral. Hopefully, this working session will create a foundation for building a long-term and effective relationship between the two museums in the coming time.
