In the morning of January 19, 2021, VNMH organized the opening ceremony of the Special Exhibition ‘The Communist Party of Vietnam - From Congress to Congress’ at No. 25, Tong Dan Street, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi. The exhibition has been jointly performed by the VNMH and the Archives Department of the Party Central Committee Office to celebrate the 91st anniversary of the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam (3/2/1930-3/2/2021), as well as to congratulate the 13th National Congress of the Party.

Participants of the opening ceremony included: Mr. Hoang Dao Cuong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism ; Mr. Bui Van Thach - Deputy Chief of the Office of the Party Central CommitteeProf. Dr. Luu Tran Tieu - President of the National Cultural Heritage Council; Mr. Pham Dinh Phong, Deputy Director of Cultural Heritage Department; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Deputy Director of the Archives Department of the Party Central Committee Office; Prof. Dr. Pham Mai Hung - Vice President of Vietnam Association of Historical Sciences; Mr. Duong Trung Quoc - National Assembly’s member, General Secretary of Vietnam Association of Historical Sciences; Mr. Guido Hidner - Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany  to Vietnam, members of the National Cultural Heritage Council; leaders and representatives leaders of departments and units under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism; the Archives Department of the Party Central Committee Office; representatives of  Ho Chi Minh Museum, Vietnam Military History Museum, Kon Tum Museum, Ninh Binh Museum, Hoa Binh Museum, Hung Yen Museum, Museum of the Vietnamese Youth, Lam Kinh Special National Relic, Bac Ninh vestige management committee, together with all officers of the VNMH and the press agencies..

The Vietnam Communist Party was established on February 3, 1930, marking a significant turning point in the history of the Vietnam revolution. The Party has gathered the strength and spirit of the whole nation to achieve victories with historical significance. These victories have resulted from the proper leadership of the Party and the one-hearted solidarity of the Vietnamese people.

Since its establishment to now, the Party has organized 12 National Party Congresses, each Congress was an important historical milestone summarizing achievements, experience lessons and outlining directions, policies to lead the country in the next stage based on ensuring the goal, the ideal of national independence associated with socialism, Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought.

The exhibition  present  to the public 3 parts:

The establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam;

The Communist Party of Vietnam - From Congress to Congress;

Towards the 13th National Congress of the Party

The exhibition  presents  many valuable documents and objects such as:  the book "French colonialism on Trial" written by Nguyen Ai Quoc; the book "Tự chỉ trích" (Self-criticism) written by Tri Cuong (General Secretary Nguyen Van Cu); Summary Political Programs, Summary Strategies of the Communist Party of Vietnam - first political programs written by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc (President Ho Chi Minh) in February 1930; the Political Programs of the Workers' Party of Vietnam adopted at the 2nd National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, in February, 1951; The main orientations and objectives of socio-economic development in 1986-1990 presented by Mr. Vo Van Kiet- member of the Political of the Communist Party of Vietnam at the 6th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, in December 1986, etc; Gifts from Vietnamese citizens and international friends offered to the Communist Party of Vietnam through National Congresses; Media showcase introducing important achievements of the country under the leadership of the Communist Party. 

The manuscript “Self-Criticism” of President Ho Chi Minh (pseudonym C.B), published in the Nhan Dan Journal - central organ of the Workers' Party of Vietnam, at No. 9, May 20, 1951. 

Opening speech (with autograph of President Ho Chi Minh in red ink pen) presented by President Ho Chi Minh at the 3rd National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, in September 5th, 1960.

Opening speech the 6th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam presented by Nguyen Van Linh, Member of the Political, in December 15th, 1986. 

Gifts from Vietnamese citizens and international friends offered to the Communist Party of Vietnam through National Congresses

Giving his speech at the opening ceremony, PhD. Nguyen Van Doan emphasized: through this Exhibition, the VNMH  desires to help the public, especially each official, party member, especially the young generation better understand their responsibilities, contribute to building the Party increasingly clean and strong, successfully obtaining the goals: rich people, strong nation, democratic, equitable and civilized society. Director Nguyen Van Doan extended deep thanks to the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, scientists, and the press agencies for their attention.

From 18 May 2019, the exhibition “Treasures of the Red River. Archaeological Collections from the Museums of Vietnam” will be running in the Winter Palace’s Halls of the History of Ancient Writings. It is being timed to mark Ho Chi Minh’s birthday and the days of the city named in his honour.
