On 22nd May 2017, the Vietnam National Museum of History had a meeting with the National Research Institute of Maritime Culture Heritage, Korea within the framework of the cooperation program between the two sides.
Representatives of the National Research Institute of Maritime Culture Heritage includes: Mr. Lee Eun Seok - Head of Research Division, Mr. Hong Sun Jae and Mr. Kang Won Chun - Researchers.
Representatives of the Vietnam National Museum of History includes: Dr. Nguyen Van Doan - Deputy Director, researchers of Archeology Division and coordinators of International Cooperation Division.

At the meeting, representatives of the two sides are very pleased with the cooperation results achieved during the past five years. During this time, there were many activities conducted, for example: survey, research, publication, exhibition, etc. Especially, the activity of survey and research of the ancient trading ports system from North to South of Vietnam got high scientific results.
In May 2017, the researchers will focused on detailed analysis of the locations in the ports and seaport system in Central of Vietnam. The plan of survey and research will be expected to take place from 23th May to 3rd May 2017. Representative of Vietnam National Museum of History - Dr. Nguyen Van Doan commented: "This is a systematic survey on a large-scale and quite comprehensive of ports that distribute from Quang Binh province to Binh Dinh province. Due to the short-term program, the researchers of two sides should be carefully prepared and highly focused”.

Both sides hope to continue the success of the previous surveys. The results of this year's survey and research collaboration will contribute to supplement material on the ancient trading port system of Vietnam as well as affirming the sovereignty of Vietnam’s sea and island.
