The special exhibition "Treasures of Vietnam’s Archaeology” has officially opened at 6p.m (local time), Thursday 30th March, 2017 at the State Museum of Archeology Chemnitz (Staadliches Museum für Archäologie Chemnitz - SMAC).
This is the second destination where the collection being exposed in the framework of co-operation project introducing the history and culture of Vietnam in Germany.

There is the presence of honorable chairs and fellow delegates attending the opening ceremony: Dr. Eva-Maria Stange - State Minister of Science and Art (Sachsen), Mr. Doan Xuan Hung - Vietnamese Ambassador in Germany, Dr. Nguyen Van Doan - Deputy Director of Vietnam National Museum of History - representative of lending objects organizations from Vietnam; Dr. Josef Mühlenbrock - Director of the LWL - Museum of Archaeology in Herne, representative of parther organizations from Germany; Dr. Sabine Wolfram - Director of the State Museum of Archeology Chemnitz; Vietnamese compatriots in Chemnitz with the news agencies of Vietnam and Germany.

The exhibition exposes around 400 typical objects of Vietnam, aiming to introduce the Vietnamese culture (from the prehistory, Dong Son culture, the Hung King era, Champa culture, Thang Long - Dai Viet culture to the present time).

The objects exposed in this exhibition help the Germans in particular and the Europeans in general understand more about the unique tradition and cultural features of Vietnam, thereby enhancing cohesion and mutual understanding between the two countries Vietnam - Germany.
Vietnamese Ambassador Doan Xuan Hung had a speech at the opening ceremomy emphasized the significance of the exhibition. It contributes to the enhancement of understanding and cooperation between Vietnam and Germany, especially in the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the strategic partnership establishment. Through this exhibition, the Germans will get a deeper insight to the Vietnamese history, affirming that Vietnam is a country with a long-term and unique cultural tradition.

As the representative of parther organization from Vietnam, Dr. Nguyen Van Doan - Deputy Director of Vietnam National Museum of History also had a speech at the opening ceremony. He emphasized: "On the basis of mutual understanding and cooperation between the two countries, we will continue to developmore opportunities to introduce history and culture of each nation. Hope that we can get further cooperation in the fields of education, preservation, research, archaeological excavation, publication and so on".
The special exhibition "Treasures of Vietnam’s Archaeology” takes place from 31st March, 2017 to 20th August, 2017.
