On 28/12/2016, a meeting for marketing solutions and visitor attraction in museums and historical relics was organized at the Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH), gathering 16 relevant units including museums, historical relics, Management Board of Cultural Village and Heritage Maganize.

Co-chairs of the meeting were Mr. Pham Dinh Phong - Vice Head of Cultural Heritage Department (MOCST) and Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong - Director of Vietnam National Museum of History.

Spoke at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong raised the necessary for establishing a link and co-operation among museums and historical relics to develop marketing plans and works to promote strongly and increase the number of visitors. According to him, at the present, heritage relics and museums have grown so fast and become bigger in Vietnam. However, the investment for marketing and visitor luring is not adequate.

Follow-up to this issue, representatives have discussed and proposed solutions for the marketing strategies and implementation, mainly focusing on how to organize communication and promotion programs, collaborating with travel agencies and tourism for target clients, issuing documents and books of advertisement, internet marketing and site marketing such as billboards and leaflets, LED and television advertisement, organizing training course for marketing human resource.

A draft of memorandum of co-operation was made in this meeting and expected to be signed in near future with the agreement of all members.

On July 1-2, 2026, the Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH) in collaboration with Da Lat University and Japanese conservation experts, organized a professional training workshop on the conservation of waterlogged wooden artifacts by the Trehalose method. The workshop serves as an important preparation for the project "Conservation of Ancient Waterlogged Boat in Vietnam by the Trehalose Method", while promoting the application of advanced conservation technologies for Vietnam's cultural heritage.
