The Vietnam National Museum of History co-operates with University of Warsaw

On 22/11/2016, a meeting for exchanging opportunities of co-operation on museum and archaeology and cultural heritage conservation between the Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH) and University of Warsaw (Poland) was organized in Hanoi.

PhD of Archaeology Marta Zuchowska and Mrs. Katarzyna Czapska represented for Warsaw University. VNMH Deputy Director Nguyen Van Doan together with his senior staffs attended the meeting.

Representatives of University of Warsaw and VNMH

Two sides agreed and proposed co-operations on archaeological excavations, academic training and exchange regarding to exhibition, conservation and relic renovation. In near future, a Memorandum of Understanding will be discussed for the co-operation.

Vietnam and Poland had done together the My Son restoration project 30 years ago very successfully. This time, the co-operation is a chance for promoting culture and history of the two countries.

On July 1-2, 2026, the Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH) in collaboration with Da Lat University and Japanese conservation experts, organized a professional training workshop on the conservation of waterlogged wooden artifacts by the Trehalose method. The workshop serves as an important preparation for the project "Conservation of Ancient Waterlogged Boat in Vietnam by the Trehalose Method", while promoting the application of advanced conservation technologies for Vietnam's cultural heritage.
