An exhibition called "Renovation - Journey of dreams" will be launched at the Vietnam National Museum of History.
This is to mark the 5th birthday of the museum - 2011-2016 (merged from the Vietnamese Museum of History and Vietnamese Museum of Revolution) and celebrate 30 years of Doi Moi in Vietnam (1986-2016).
The exhibition combines objects and stories related to the spotlighted events of the economic reform, stories about the politicians who paid the way for the policy and memories told by Vietnamese people who stayed in Hanoi in the first years of Doi moi. The object collection in the exhibition includes objects of the VNMH and donated.

Exhibition's subject "Renovation or die" focuses on reasons and social circumstances with many requirements to a renovation for the whole country in the 1980s, and the content of the reform, and the role and marks of the political heroes who made the decisions and performed the reform. In the part "Renovation to step up", we will display how the economic reform brought opportunities for Vietnam, and how it generated environments for private enterprises and social economy.
Active - integration: Renovation to make people and country active. Vietnam opened the door to the world, exports and imports, and international co-operation.
Growth: Agricultural reforms made Vietnam a second exporter of rice. After 30 years, Vietnam's social-economic infra-structure has developed with many modern buildings and facilities.
Power: Renovation improved living standards (health, education, culture and spiritual life), creating confidence, career, prosperity and happiness.

Our exhibition aims to provide understanding about an important historical period, changes and achievements of the country and expecting that the spirit of creation and renovation will be continued developed in the society.
The "Renovation - Journey of dreams" will open on September 22, 2016 at the Vietnam National Museum of History.
