Hue Museum of Royal Antiquities collaborated with Vietnam National Museum of History has opened an exhibition showcasing Vietnamese ancient jewelry and celebrate the Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2015
This exhibition features more than one hundred jewelries and accessories dating back from prehistory to the Nguyen dynasty. For example, the necklace and earring made of shell beads of Bau Tro culture dating back 5000 years ago, the stone beads of Phung Nguyen culture 4000 years ago, stone collection of Dong Dau 3500 years ago, bronze jewelry of Dong Son culture 2000-2500 years ago, and glass collection of Sa Huynh culture 2000 years ago. However, the most luxury and high quality collection is Nguyen royal jewelry (18th - 20th century). It includes many kinds of jewelry (hairpin, bracelet, necklace, ring, earring, pendant, ornament...) and made of many types of materials (silver, gold, gemstone and jade...).
This exhibition is surely to present the creative values dedicated by Vietnamese craftsmen in a long history from prehistory to the feudalism with the peak of Nguyen dynasty and in a wide area from the North to the Central and South Vietnam.*-
The exhibition runs from April 28th, 2015 to June 28th, 2015 at Hue Museum of Royal Antiquities (address: 3 Le Truc, Hue City).
