At the talk, Dr. Pham Quoc Quan spoke about the issues including concepts, distribution, date and the native of the Dong Son culture. After 90 years from the date of first discovery and through many studies, the concepts and the distribution of Dong Son culture have been expanded. The native characteristic of Dong Son culture has been proved through such development stages as from Phung Nguyen - Dong Dau - Go Mun to Dong Son... The talk was especially interested by the students through many questions that they made to the speaker. Also, many issues have been exchanged among the experts attending the talk.

Hopefully, young officers and students can understand more about a famous culture that played an important role in our national history.

The Cham and Khmer stone artifacts in the Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH) hold a big quantity and have an important cultural and historical value. However, they are degrading due to natural conditions and the disadvantages of the preservation technique. To deal with this matter, VNMH has made a plan for a co-operative project with the École Française d'Extrême-Orient (EFEO), to reach to a better conservative method, firstly by the stone analysis.
