On 6/5/2014, VNMH organized an art performance and opened the exhibition titled “Placards in the resistance war against French colonists 1946-1954”. Those are in the things that held to celebrate the victory of Dien Bien Phu by VNMH.
Attending the ceremony were representatives from relevant competent organizations: Mr. Le Nhu Tien - Vice Head of National Assembly Committee for Culture, Education of Youth and Children; Prof.Dr.Sc. Luu Tran Tieu - Chairman of National Heritage Council, Dr. Do Van Tru - General Secretary of Cultural Heritage Association of Vietnam; Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s representatives, colleagues and broadcast providers.

In Vietnam, propaganda posters are a new type of fine art but it has grown quickly and become popular in the resistance wars. They are said to be appeared since the early time of August Revolutionary (1945). The first posters can be named as of the artists Nguyen Do Cung, To Ngoc Van, Luong Xuan Nhi…

In the resistance war against French colonists, the propaganda posters played an important role in the propaganda mission, cheering up the spirits of fighting and calling people for joining the army.
VNMH is keeping a considerable number of propaganda posters in multiple types. The collection of posters in the time of 1946 – 1954 has been fulfilled through many collecting works done for a long time through 182 departments, national reserves department, cultural organizations, corporate and individuals.
Through the objects and materials in the exhibition hall, visitors can understand more about the resistance war against French colonists that Vietnam took in difficulties but with many heroic people and victories.
