After 9 years of long resistance, Vietnam ended the French involvement by a final battle of Dien Bien Phu.
The victory of Dien Bien Phu is one of the greatest in the history of building and protecting the country of Vietnam. It is written as Bach Dang, Chi Lang or Dong Da battles in the 20th century in Vietnamese history; and remembered as a glorious victory defeating the colonialism in the world history.
On the 60th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Battle (7/5/1954-7/5/2014), the Department of Materials - Library of Vietnam National Museum of History would like to collaborate with Vietsoftpro Company to introduce a collection of photographs with subject: Dien Bien Phu - Battlefield Before and Now”. The collection will revitalize the memorable battlefield of Dien Bien in the past and introduce the magical changes in Dien Bien province nowadays.
With 80 photographs and pictures well selected, to present in two contents:
1. Dien Bien Phu - the final battle
2. Dien Bien Phu, 60 years later
The exhibition will be officially opened in the 1st ground, Exhibition Hall, 216 Tran Quang Khai, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi by the end of April, 2014.
With view to promote the event of celebration, Vietnam National Museum of History would like to share those materials to other museums, organizations and individuals in local and foreign.
