Gen. Vo Nguyen Giap is a Vietnamese hero, an outstanding learner of President Ho Chi Minh and the first General of Vietnam People’s Army.
Gen. Vo Nguyen Giap died on 4-10-2013 at 103 years old. His life is a big mirror and pride for Vietnamese people. To understand about his life, career and philosophy and to celebrate 73rd anniversary of Vietnam People’s Army (22/12/1944-22/12/2013), a talk on “Commander Vo Nguyen Giap: Life and Career” was opened at VNMH with the spoken of Duong Trung Quoc, a famous historian.

The talk was lasted for 2 hours. The Historian Duong Trung Quoc provided detailed information about life and career of Gen. Giap. He focused on the big events in Gen. Giap’s life, world’s assessments on our commander, his family, the important meeting between Vo Nguyen Giap and Ho Chi Minh, and his fighting career to defeat French colonist and for Vietnamese revolutionary.
According to Duong Trung Quoc, there were some critical milestones in Gen. Giap’s life: Vo Nguyen Giap was born on 25-8-1911 and 1911 was a time when Nguyen Tat Thanh (President Ho Chi Minh) started his travel to overseas to find the way to save the country.
