Following an intensive preparation, a contract signing ceremony for the exhibition “Japanese Culture” between VNMH and Kyushu National Museum (Japan) was held on 11-11-2013 at VNMH.
Participants from Japan side were Mr. Takana - senior officer of General Department of Japanese Culture, Mr. Miwa Karoku - Director of Kyushu National Museum (Japan) and other delegates from Kyushu museum. Representatives from Vietnam Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism were Mr. Nguyen Huu Toan - Deputy Director of Department of Cultural Heritage, Mr. Do The Anh – Department of Plan and Finance. Represented for VNMH party were Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong - Director and the Deputies Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chien, Mr. Vu Manh Ha and Mr. Nguyen Van Doan, and the senior officers of VNMH.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Binh - Head of Exhibition Division, VNHM, made a report on prospective and schedule of the mentioned exhibition. Accordingly, this January 2014 exhibition has been proposed by Kyushu National Museum on the occasion of the Exhibition “Vietnam - the great story” held in April 2013, Japan to celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relation between Vietnam and Japan. This proposal was approved by General Department of Japanese Culture. Later, it has been discussed by the two museums for several times. In details, the two parties have decided to arrange outstanding 70 objects including 16 objects representing for Vietnam.

In August 2013, two parties made together an overall look at the facilities and circumstances for the exhibition. In October 2013, the draft of program was approved by the two parties, accordingly, the exhibition will be held on 16-1-2014. Especially, other marginal activities such as volunteers, Japanese fashion show, and Japanese folk arts performance, presenting and organizing Japanese folk games for Vietnamese kids…will be held. For the duties condition of the contract, Kyushu museum will be responsible for packing and shipping objects to Vietnam, and VNMH will be in charge of preparing catalogue, banners for the exhibition, holding opening ceremony and co-ordinate with Kyushu for other activities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong – Director of VNMH extended his gratitude to Japanese partners who have supported VNMH in carrying out the exhibition “Vietnam - the great story”, through such event, Vietnamese culture has been introduced and promoted widely in Japan.

He highly appreciated the intensive preparation made by the two museums for such January 2014 exhibition. This exhibition will help to boost up the cultural exchange, co-operation and promotion between the two countries. Thus, it plays great importance to the 40th anniversary of diplomat relation between Vietnam and Japan. He also mentioned about five concrete working items and requested the cooperation from Kyushu to implement such as the proposal of Japanese ancient town exhibition and other marginal activities…

Mr. Miwa Karoku - Director of Kyushu National Museum thanked to Vietnam Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the VNMH for their co-operation in organizing successfully the exhibition of “Vietnam - the great story”. He revealed that there were more than 80 thousands of turns to visit this exhibition. It can be said to be the highest quality and most successful exhibition about Vietnam held in Japan. Since 1981, the General Department of Japanese Culture has organized some oversea exhibitions. Almost exhibitions were held in Europe and America except some were done in Asian countries. Therefore, it promises to be the ever largest and excellent exhibition contributing to improve the understandings and promotion of culture between the two countries and the two museums. He spoke that this signing is only a part and a step forward within a framework of multiple activities held by the two museums. For Mr. Cuong’s request, he said it will be further discussed in details by the two parties to make this exhibition successful and attracting the attention of numerous public in Vietnam.
Mr. Takana - represented for General Department of Japanese Culture also spoke at the signing, he highly appreciated the efforts made by the two museums in organizing the cultural exchange and promotion activities efficiently.

Next, Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong and Mr. Miwa Karoku signed the Cooperation Contract and exchanged the souvenirs.

After the signing ceremony, the Japanese delegates visited the temporary exhibition room “Asia - the colorful cultures”, that has been held since October 2013 on ANMA 4th Conference event at VNMH.
