On 30/10/3013, an assessment review on a ministerial level scientific study entitled “Improving the efficiency of museum education to schoolchildren”, which focused on the activities of club “I love history”, was held at VNMH. The study has been undertaken by MA. Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh (VNMH’s officer).

The Assessment Council includes Professor. Luu Tran Tieu - Chairman of National Cultural Heritage Council (Chairman of Assessment Council), and its members such as PhD. Dang Van Bai - Vice Chairman of Scientific Association of Vietnamese History, PhD. Nguyen Trong Hoan - Deputy Director of Department of Science, Technology and Environment, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, PhD. Chu Duc Tinh - Director of Ho Chi Minh Museum… Representing VNMH are PhD. Nguyen Van Cuong, Director of VNMH and its senior officers.

The study’s authors

As the result of the necessity of history learning and teaching, as well as the poor attitude of many young people towards the national history, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh has carried out this study with the intention of focusing on the improvement of museum education to schoolchildren in the modern time. It focuses on studying the case of club “I love history” which has been organized at VNMH and proposing the way to implement this club to other museums in order to build educational program and model for schoolchildren. Besides, the author has mentioned on the circumstances of museum education as well as suggested solutions and perspectives aimed at increasing the quality of learning history in general and promoting utmost efficiency of museum education in particular.

With the study methodology, especially, sociological statistic study and interdisciplinary studies, it has worked out a precise number and the relationships in history education between museums and school institutions.

This study has been highly appreciated for its creativity and practicality and for the author’s hard working efforts. It should be published as a good reference document for museums and permanent educational institutions./.

On 22/10/2013, on behalf of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Nguyen Van Tan - Director of Organization and Personnel Department made an announcement and handed an appointment letter to Mr. Nguyen Van Doan, Head of Research and Collection to be appointed as Deputy Director of VNMH. (According to Decision no. 3609/QĐ-BVHTTDL dated 21/10/201).
