Asia is the world’s largest and most populous continent. Asia differs very widely among and within its regions with regard to ethnic groups, cultures, environments, historical ties, etc. The diversity of Asian culture is showed in many different aspects such as: customs, traditions, festivals, religion, belief, architecture, art, literature.
The Vietnam National Museum of History will hold a thematic exhibition: Asia - the Colorful Cultures to introduce the colorful paintings of Asian Cultures to visitors. The exhibition introduces nearly 100 artifacts of 10 countries: India, Cambodia, Korea, Indonesia, Laos, Korea, Myanmar, Japan, Thailand, China and Vietnam. These artifacts are being stored at the Vietnam National Museum of History.
The artifacts are including: the Buddhist and Hindu sculpture of India, Myanmar and Laos; statues, architecture for Cambodia’s Angkor period; Worshiping artifacts and life utensils are made by ceramic and copper of Korea; Edo period’s ceramics and the traditional lacquer ware of Japan; Buddhism and ceramics of Thailand; Ceramics, jade and bronze of China, etc.
The exhibition will open for visitor from October 8th, 2013 and lasted until the end of December 2013. This exhibition also is an event to celebrate the 4th Conference of the Asian National Museum Association that held at the Vietnam National Museum of History from October 7th to October 9th, 2013.
