Asia is the world’s largest and most populous continent with multi religions, beliefs and ethnic communities.
It was a cradle of the greatest civilizations and cultures. The similarity in cultures is resulted from the geographical and natural proximity but each Asian country owns its particular cultural identity that creating a multi colorful picture of Asian cultures.
The Asian colorful cultures are signified in various aspects including customs, habits, festivals, religions, beliefs, architecture, arts, literature, written languages, food…The colorful cultures are formed and developed by their national characteristics, religions and geography and enriched through the exchanges and acculturation of cultures.
The temporary exhibition entitled “Asia - the colorful cultures” is opened to celebrate the 4th Conference of Asian National Museums Association (ANMA4) which will be held on October 7 - 9, 2013 at VNMH. Around 100 special objects from 10 Asian countries (India, Cambodia, South Korea, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Japan, Thailand, China and Vietnam) will be presented this time.

Shiva sitting on the Nandin bull, Statue, Golden Bronze, Chakri dynasty,Thailand, XIX century

The Buddha sitting on the Lotus, Statue, Bronze, Laos, XIX century
The exhibition will be opened from 8/10/2013 to 16/12/2013 at the Vietnam National Museum of History, 25 Tong Dan, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.
