Renovating, improving the museum’s operation to bring the museum closer to public, especially for those who are unable to visit the museum in person.
The Vietnam National Museum of History has created a pilot version of 3D interactive virtual museum for 2 thematic exhibition displays, called “Vietnamese Buddhist Cultural Heritage” and “Vietnamese Ancient Lamp”.
On 22/8/2013, The Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH) has held a press conference to launch the successful application of 3D interactive virtual museum. Attending the conference were the museum leaders, managers and vice of divisions and numbers of reporters from government and local news agencies and media companies.

Overall view
The 3D technology is the latest one, which has been already applied in the audiovisual presentations. In the world, it has been used for the virtual museums since 2008. In Vietnam, this application is quite new for museums and VNMH is the pioneer to employ. The pilot version of the 2 above thematic exhibitions will enable for the next to build the whole online exhibitions of VNMH in the future.
