On July 27, 2013, The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Vietnam National Museum of History has visited Nho Quan Nursing Center for Wounded Soldiers, Ninh Binh province. This activity is to promote a Vietnamese tradition of “Uống nước nhớ nguồn” (when you drink the water, remember who dug the well) on the 66th anniversary of Day for Martyrs and Wounded Soldiers and to review our father’s splendid time in the national protracted revolution.

The center is nursing for 132 patients, of whom 90 are seriously wounded soldiers. All wounded and sick soldiers got head injuries that resulted in the brains. During the bad weather, they have to suffer from pains that lead to unconscious behaviors like tearing or firing their clothing or screaming. However, in their normal mental condition, they are very kind and friendly with smiles to the doctors and nurses and telling them about their memories in the battles. All of them are soldiers of the past two wars, coming from 23 provinces and cities across the country and with various injuries in their body. By now, those soldiers can live together in one home and receiving the attention and care from their family and society, especially the careful nursing from the center. Thus, the happiness and pleasure can be seen on their face.
Youth Union members are burning incense to memorize heroic martyrs at Martyr’s Cemetery in Nho Quan district.
Witnessing the soldier’s brave example of fighting and their spiritual and physical losses, Youth Union members are very excited and wish to pay more contribution in study and work to be deserved for the sacrifices of the ancestors. This is annual activity of Youth Union of Vietnam National Museum of History for the young people to review our father’s splendid time in our national protracted revolution.
Youth Union members are visiting and bringing the gift to Mr Nguyen Huu Thanh (93 years old), a seriously wounded soldier in the French anti war who is getting the treatment in Nho Quan Nursing Center for Wounded Soldiers.
