On the afternoon June10th,2013, Vietnam National Museum of History held a meeting in order to announce the result of selecting logo of Vietnam National Museum of History and plan of composition in next phase.

Joining the program are: Ms. Doan Thi Thu Huong, deputy director of Art-Photography bureau, designer Tran Thanh Chuong, Vu Manh Ha, Deputy head of content and form’s display Vietnam National Museum of History, along with artists, designers.

Summarizing the first contest, Mr. Vu Manh Ha said "we have received writings of 81 authors with 204 word from 16 provinces and cities nationwide, with a number of such word, contest was appreciated relatively successful. "over many selected round, the art council selected three model which was nominated to next round. However, three model didn’t satisfy with the criteria that the organizers made. Consequently National History Museum announced plans for the next phase compositions of the competition, plans to launch phase composing the next stage of the competition will take place within one month of starting from 06.10.2013.

Hopefully the competition will find the best work performance, fully meet the strict criteria of the arts council art in general and the National History Museum in particular.

From 18 May 2019, the exhibition “Treasures of the Red River. Archaeological Collections from the Museums of Vietnam” will be running in the Winter Palace’s Halls of the History of Ancient Writings. It is being timed to mark Ho Chi Minh’s birthday and the days of the city named in his honour.

Implementing collaborative research program between Vietnam National Museum of History and Korean Research Institute of Marine Cultural Heritage from May,3th to May,11th,2013, a group of researchers of the two units conducted a survey five ancient trade ports in some provinces in central area of Vietnam including Lach Truong port (Thanh Hoa), Hoi Thong port (Ha Tinh), Thanh Ha - Bao Vinh port (Thua Thien - Hue) , Da Nang port (Da Nang), Hoi An port (Quang Nam).
