Oc Eo culture is ancient cultures in the history of the early Vietnam era, developed in South Vietnam. It is a place in Thoai Son district, An Giang province
The preliminary archaeological discoveries dating from the Iron Age period in the Southern region of Vietnam (2500 - 2000 years ago) demonstrated the native Vietnamese origin of the Oc Eo culture. These relics were distributed in different ecological zones but contained all the characteristic elements of Oc Eo culture, which is manifested most clearly in ceramics. In addition, features of Sa Huynh culture and other external cultural sources were also important influences contributing to the formation of the Oc Eo cultureAlpha
For a long time, an exhibition of Oc Eo cultural antiques become an neccesary request not only of those who are interested in Oc Eo culture but also of the most visitors in studying some character of this culture; help them see the value of antiques in many respect, contributing to studying the history of Vietnam, forming the awareness of the protection of cultural heritage nation.
From the practical request, the Viet Nam national museum of history organizes big special exhibition: Oc Eo - Phu Nam Culture
Artifacts for display is very various with about 100 artifacts arranged in type, material, date. The artifacts are divided into three parts.
Part I: EARTHENWARE OBJECTS
The Oc Eo finds include earthenware objects of many kinds, all with a strong element of distinctive indigenous forms and influences. The most striking are artefacts of three main types: household items; productive implements and utensils; and architectural ornaments. Notable among the domestic wares are jars, pots, lids, bowls, cups, bottles and so on. There are also examples of the kind of earthenware stoves still in use among today’s riverine Mekong delta populations, together with bricks and earthenware architectural ornaments from the fine temples which are one of the hallmarks of the Oc Eo cultural heritage.

Part II. JEWELRY AND PRECIOUS METAL ARTIFACTS
Oc Eo’s decorative artefacts include jewelry of many types including bracelets, rings, earrings, necklaces and beads made from precious materials such as gold, gemstones, agate, quartz and glass. There is a wide range of colours, size and form. Of special note are works in embossed and carved gold foil work. There are also seals and ring crests adorned with delicately carved human and animal images, and coins in gold, silver and pewter.


Part III. BUDDHIST AND HINDU FIGURINES
Oc Eo’s Buddhist and Hindu figures come in many forms crafted in stone, wood and bronze.These important finds come from a wide range of excavations and other sites scattered across the southern region of Vietnam. The key period of Oc Eo’s Hindu and Buddhist sculpture is from the fifth to the seventh century BCE. These works reflect influences derived from Indian art but with many localized trends and style features.
