On April 13th 2012, the course of preserving paper materials, held in the cooporation between Wallonie-Bruxelle, Belgium and The Government of Vietnam, was closed in the meeting hall of the Vietnam National Museum of History after two weeks of hard working.
Attending the closing ceremony, there were the Director of the Vietnam National Museum of History and a member of the Direction board Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong; the Chief Representative of Wallonie – Bruxelle delegation Mr. Franc Pezza; the Deputy Director General of the Department of Vietnam Cultural Heritage; representatives from other Departments of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; representatives of Leader boads from other museums which had people join in the course and representatives from divisions and boards of the Vietnam National Museum of History; teacher and students of the course.
In only two weeks, teacher and students worked very hard and received the best results (100% students have certifications). Beside providing theories, the course also was a good chance for students to join in extracurricular activities, such as: visiting Dong Ho village (where people have a famous traditional painting craft), visiting and discussing with a craftsman of the Hang Trong painting craft Mr. Le Dinh Nghien. This is the last course in the cooporation project between Belgium and Vietnam so documents of the course and others before along with those provided by experts will be collected and edited to built a full preservation document used for museum objects. We hope that it will bring good results in the future.
During the project, we received much concern and helps from the Government of Belgium that hopefully a new cooporation in culture between two governments will be built in the next period.
