The food tray is made of fine whitish-brown clay overlaid with yellow glaze. The Viet-Han cross-cultural elements are illustrated through decorative patterns on the tray: in the middle of the tray are three fish with heads pointing towards each other, following the Chinese tale “Three fish contemplating the moon”. The outer edge of the tray is decorated with tangential circles, typical of the Dong Son culture, which makes the tray livelier.
