Drum basin, bronze, 2nd-3rd centuries AD., discovered in Lach Truong district, Thanh Hoa province
The drum basin is a type of burial good quite popular in the Han tombs. The outside-base is decorated with exquisite patterns in the style of Dong Son bronze drum, while patterns inside are two symmetrical fish in relief, a very typical decoration of the Chinese culture. This artefact reflects the preservation of the Dong Son culture and cross-cultural exchange between Viet-Han cultures.
