Road construction tools (hoe heads, picks, hoes, shovels) used by the 10 female service martyrs of the Vietnam Youth Volunteer Brigade who died in action levelling craters at Dong Loc Junction, Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province on 24 July 1968. These youthful war heroines are still revered as embodiments of national will and spirit, and the dedication of the thousands of young Vietnamese who served the cause of national liberation as Ho Chi Minh Trail road clearance volunteers during the anti-US Resistance War.
