Hooks, bronze, Go Mun culture, c. 3,000-2,500 BP.

Hooks and fishing net weights were popular and diverse in type and size, reflecting the fact that in parallel with cultivation and hunting, fishing played an important role in the life of the ancient Viet people. In previous periods, only fishing net weights made of stone and ceramic were found. Thus, the appearance of bronze hooks in Go Mun culture reflects the advancement in metallurgy and bronze casting technique which marked the turning point in people’s life in this period.
